A Splash of Colour

As a lifelong neutral lip colour fan, I've recently had something of an epiphany. Over the last few weeks I've been trying out all manner of shades of lipstick and gloss, and I can report back that I am very much a bright lip convert. Don't get me wrong, there is always a place for a nude lipgloss in my makeup collection, and for everyday, you can't go wrong with a slick of Nars Turkish Delight or Mac Hue, but a slick of (carefully applied) red lipstick or pink lipgloss really makes me feel glam.

Finally, my new, absolute favourite lipgloss, that Mr. G picked up for me last week, is a less bright pink by Nars, called...Ophelia. Yes, I'm quite possibly biased, but it's perfect.

Finally, make sure you apply bright lipsticks really carefully. Use a lipbrush, blot and apply a second layer to make it last as long as possible. The glossier the texture, the less long it seems to last.
