Florentine and Pig

I was lucky enough to be sent a copy of Florentine and Pig Have a Very Lovely Picnic by Eva Katzler, via Mumsnet. It really is a wonderful book, and I cannot prise it away from Fifi. It is the most gorgeous illustrated story of Florentine and her adventurous friend Pig who are trying to go on a picnic, but need supplies! Cue, apples (a good opportunity to practice counting) and all sorts of mayhem. The illustrations are adorable anad the storyline is well thought out and captivating.

The story is followed by a selection of recipes, especially created by Jess and Laura Tilli from the BBC TV show The Restaurant (with Raymond Blanc), which are great fun to cook with your little ones. Rather brilliantly, Ocado has realised just how fab this book is and has a whole section on its site dedicated to the recipes, making the shopping process much easier.
